DOMAINE SERENE WINS "THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH" AT
CALIFORNIA vs. OREGON PINOT NOIR BLIND TASTING

This year's "shoot out" between two states making claims to be the best for Pinot Noir production included six top wineries from each state. Domaine Serene from Oregon was the clear winner.

The blind tasting with 35 participants was conducted by Executive Wine Seminars in Boston on March 9, 2004. Check Robert M. Parker's website (www.erobertparker.com) for more information.

1. 2000 Domaine Serene "Evenstad Reserve" (Dundee Hills, OR) $50 ~ 94 rating.
"...There's a vibrancy to this wine that makes it special. So much is going on, like a three-ring circus in your mouth. Yet, everything is perfect in balance. Very long, consistent finish. Like a porridge that's "just right," it's hard to imagine anyone who wouldn't love this wine." **

2. 2001 Elk Cove "Roosevelt Vineyard" (OR) $55
3. 2001 Pisoni "Estate" (Santa Lucia Highlands, CA) $70 **
