Welcome Letter
Hi everybody – Todd Garvens is our Director of Catering and Business Development. He has been a national speaker at conferences and has been with ZHG for almost 25 years. I thought you would like to hear from one of our key executives about working at Zilli Hospitality Group, and know a bit about our “marriage” culture.
Thanks
Jim
Welcome to the latest edition of the Zilli Hospitality Group newsletter.
I was working with some of my staff over the Memorial Day weekend and was asked several times from several of my team members about my family. I realized that some of the people asking me these questions have started their families here and remain part of our family, the ZHG family. What I mean by this is that most of you know that Zilli Hospitality Group is a family business, but what many people do not know is that there are several families within the organization. I attended a post wedding reception last week with a team member that has been with us for 15 years, he decided to spend his life with someone he met at ZHG, as did I almost 21 years ago, as did many staff that I have worked with over the years. Actually, there are 15 couples who have met here, got married and many still work here today. It made me realize the environment we create at ZHG where we are not only employees but family members on a much larger scale and with much deeper relationships with those we work with and for – deeper than any other company I have come across. Many organizations deter relationships in the workplace for a variety of reasons, but for whatever reason they seem to foster here. My mother worked here for 25 years and I swore as a very young man I would never work here! My brother worked here for 15 years, and now I am approaching my 25th year at ZHG, and the woman I love (Paula) and I met here. She has worked here for 20 years.
It demonstrates the importance of family and what it can do not only for an individual but for an organization. With that, I ask you to take the time to cherish those close to you and to remember those who have touched your life in some way because as I see it, family is what makes this organization what it is today.
From our family to yours.......Have a safe and happy summer!
Todd
